When I am asked how I describe my work, I always respond with "art is my passion." These words bring out my love for the art that I do and my feelings are reflected on the canvas.

I was born in London, England, during World War II. My family was well known in the German art world as my grandmother was an artist in Berlin during the early part of the 20th century and my mother had superior talent as a window display designer. At the age of nine, we moved to America, settling in Detroit, Michigan.

I have been artistic all my life. When I was 20, I moved to California and had great success as a hairstylist. I owned my own salon, near Pasadena, CA for many years. Color has always been my specialty and a few years ago, it seemed a natural progression to move from hair to art.

I have a special flair for color. It seems to speak to me and gives me an extreme sense of happiness and great energy. My work is alive with bold strokes and full of rich and lively colors. I attempt to show life's beauty in my work and wish to share my gifts with others through my artwork. My art is shown from California to Florida.

Since my wife, Marcia and I moved to Florida five years ago, I have been most fortunate to study with teachers Suzanne Peck and Julie Hansen. My work can currently be seen in art galleries including the Collectors Wall and Gallery 53. My work is on display in the Sarasota City Hall. I also have showings at local restaurants, banks and downtown boutiques. Numerous articles regarding my paintings can be found in local newspapers and magazines describing my passion for my art and unique style. I have also been the recipient of awards through the Sarasota Art Center.
